java - How to struggle dependencies problems in maven -

i have error maven-jetty-plugin. think problem happens because of transit dependencies plugin, conflict new libraries. error appeared after changed jersey1 jersey2 , changed dependencies com.sun org.glassfish server client/core/rs-ws, etc.

never mix com.sun.jersey (1.x) dependencies org.glassfish.jersey (2.x) dependencies. incompatible. error seeing result of mixing these together.

all need basic jersey functionality

<dependency>     <groupid>org.glassfish.jersey.containers</groupid>     <artifactid>jersey-container-servlet</artifactid>     <version>2.17</version> </dependency>

you can rid of rest (of jersey dependencies) have. json (jackson) support, use

<dependency>     <groupid>org.glassfish.jersey.media</groupid>     <artifactid>jersey-media-json-jackson</artifactid>     <version>2.17</version> </dependency>

for embedded jetty (noticed pom packaging "jar") configuration, see this complete example. jacksonfeature configure jackson support json.

edit

after looking @ pom again. don't see jetty dependencies, aside plugin. maybe you're aren't trying run embedded instance. web.xml configuration, can use startup

<servlet>     <servlet-name>jersey-serlvet</servlet-name>     <servlet-class>org.glassfish.jersey.servlet.servletcontainer</servlet-class>     <init-param>         <param-name>jersey.config.server.provider.packages</param-name>         <param-value>             you.can.list.a.comma.separated,             list.of.packages.to.scan.for,             resources.and.providers         </param-value>     </init-param>     <!-- doesn't need included.           showing how add manually. -->     <init-param>         <param-name>jersey.config.server.provider.classnames</param-name>         <param-value>             org.glassfish.jersey.jackson.jacksonfeature         </param-value>     </init-param>     <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> </servlet> <servlet-mapping>     <servlet-name>jersey-serlvet</servlet-name>     <url-pattern>/api/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping>

one thing looks odd me have packaging jar. sure shouldn't war (as seems jetty plugin configuration, running webapp).
