short filenames - JSON 3-letter file extension convention -


rfc7159 states file extension stored json file should .json. work file system 3-letter file extension. there commonly accepted file extension json file in such systems?

as no 3-letter convention exists, should make (e.g. .jon, 3-letter extension presently not used), or stick .txt?
