algorithm - Is it normal to spend weeks on a single topic / subject in CS? -


i have been self-studying cs lately , i've found concepts, has taken me forever grasp ins , outs.

for example, trying learn details of several types of sorts? took me week. operations linked list? 4 days. implementing nfa/dfa/dfa minimizer? took me 2 weeks learn , working!

i can't worry progress agonizingly slow. normal? feel there not enough time in world master many topics.

a computer science degree @ university takes several years on many courses. then, there's still lot learn. without understanding you're working on, it's hard reasonable ramp period be. anyways, don't feel discouraged! sounds you're trying feet wet , understand things. keep up!
