labview - How can I use multiple instances of a subvi (component) in subpanels without xcontrol? -


i try build modular, reusable code in labview. want create ui component allows me select 1 of files or directories in given directory.

i created subvi this. far good. can use subvi component in other vis, putting subpanel.

i want have several of such subpanels "instance" of subvi in main vi.

i cannot this. labview opens subvi in 1 subpanel , throws error opening in one.

how can tell labview create duplicate/new "instance" of subvi runs independently other one?

i found out xcontrol better approach creating components, not available me, whether solve above problem or not.

you need configure subvi reentrant.

this allows labview allocate data space each instance.

there different types of reentrancy, stick pre-allocated option start.
