linux - Updating Ubuntu 11.04 to 12.04 preferrably through command line -


i attempting update ubuntu natty narwhal (11.04) precise pangolin (12.04). when checked update manager, told couldn't that. had 11.10 first, if want safely. sounds plan.

and i've ran through update manager keeps giving me 404 on "setting new software channels" this:

w:failed fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/oneiric-security/main/source/sources  404  not found [ip: 91.189.91.24 80] 

and there wre lot of that!

no, not want latest ubuntu yet, though. not lubuntu. please, want find out how download specific version of package, or if it's possible. kinda imagine command-line text can attach url of ubuntu distribution want. , update 1 have.

i know both natty , precise eol distributions, understand difficult.

you can download hardware specific package of ubuntu 12.04 directly

http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/ or http://howtoubuntu.org/how-to-install-ubuntu-12-04-precise-pangolin

there no such option in standard installation medium.
